The intersection of project-based STEM and entrepreneurship provides the foundation for our next generation of tech-industry leaders. Business modeling without product development and product development without a business model fall short of providing a genuine real-world experience. Doing it for real is both more challenging and more rewarding. This can be very hard to accomplish in the public education environment without a closely-tied private sector partner. Providing private-sector technical, administrative and financial support to career education programs in Ventura County is our focus so that each program can have a genuine pathway to start a business.

NewCo Foundation is a private 501 (c)(3) non-profit driven by the incubation of ideas, products, services, and companies founded by or employing students. We operate on and off campus programs that provide employment opportunities for high school and college students to make meaningful contributions to startup companies. We accelerate readiness for college and careers by means of an entrepreneurial apprenticeship model. We provide student internships, earned scholarships, school equipment and supplies.

RCMakes, a program of NewCo Foundation, is a non-profit conglomerate operated by students at Rancho Campana High School. Services include an online store selling wares made by students, a community makerspace, a build-to-spec job shop for individual and business customers, expanded learning programs for incoming and current high school students, video production, software development and graphic design. We produce goods and services, provide internships and student employment, award earned academic scholarships, and incubate startup businesses.
